Alex Logvynovskiy
Director of R&D

Alex has been the R&D Director at Ārahi since its inception in November 2021. Collaborating closely with co-founders Rupert and Jon and the Ārahi Method and Content (AMAC) team, he translates business vision and models into robust technical architectures. He leads a team of talented engineers whose focus is on innovating scalable solutions for the Ārahi platform. 

With a career spanning over 30 years in software engineering, Alex specialises in user-centric web development, data integration, and annotation. He began his career developing accounting software for the hotel industry, then moved to academic research on semistructured data. Alex's extensive industry experience includes roles in software development for diverse sectors such as hotel hospitality, real estate, and financial services. Notable projects include developing secure payment gateways for CAFOD, enhancing curated searches for Mr & Mrs Smith, AI-driven services for Bother and user-centric interfaces for residential and commercial search for Rightmove. He worked as Senior Engineer for Trimble Real Estate (utilisation division), Concentra Analytics and ThirdBridge (investor research services). 

Alex earned his MSc in Software Engineering with distinction from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics. He has contributed to academic research on semistructured databases and data annotation at London South Bank University and the University of East London, where he also taught computing to undergraduate and graduate students.
